I did publish a new post on the other blog. You can find it here: https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=795755121839993435#allposts.

Warning: it is kind of sad. But writing does help me, somehow.

  1. Rick - I admire your courage to face the truth and also write about it.
I think you are doing great and showing all others how to face the cruel facts of life with bravery and poise.

  3. Hi Rick -
I wonder why your blog thinks I'm "alex". It's Andy. Bought this laptop on Craigslist, maybe the prior owner...

David - Rick's other blog is here: http://rickstrailnotes.blogspot.com/

So Rick...far be it from me to offer any advice. You will get the port out - regardless of what they determine at JH on your next visit. You'll get your hair back (great that it's always been pretty short!). You'll regain the weight - I have no idea how you held steady @ 165 lbs all those years. I don't think you've ever been that good-looking a guy - but the important thing was Alison did! ;-) You'll get your life back. This is s detour for you. Unlikely maybe, but maybe a valuable detour... We'll be around for another 30/40 years to find out if/why I'm right about that. I'm sure of that. I know it is hard to be optimistic and enjoy the good things about today, with this hanging over you. But you'll get through this. Too bad it's not just time, it also has to have an impact on the way you feel, and your outlook, too. That's all supposed to happen, and it's all worth it. Just hang in there, and know we're all in your corner.
